We arrived at split after a 3 hr horrible bus ride from Zadar.
The apartment we're staying at is alil far, uphill but it's really pretty.
With AIRCON!
The place we were to stay at for 2nights, Hvar Rooms, messed up the pick up alil.
We had to beg for a phone to use,the dude was NOT willing, going on about how it wud cost him.
While waiting for e host,we found a tour to the blue and green caves for 500kunas. From split, they were quoted up to 130€! So we booked it for the following day.
Bruno, finally picked us up and drove us to his place,he was kind enough to allow two pinoys to hitch hike to their accom.
The hvar rooms isnt the best.
Room is clean, bruno is superrr sweet and kind with many things to share with us. But the toilet.. Is dirty and smelly and..just not pleasant.
So we left our things and headed up a rocky track to a beach Bruno recommended. It was soo pretty water is beyond clear,i was all excited to jump right in as i've never swimmed in SUCH turqoise water in my life! But once in,i realise my mistake. The top layer was dirty.. There were pieces of wood, litter and god knows what, not all as it seemed from the top. But fair enough,it was still quite clean closer to the rocks.
I then walked to the town and climbed e Hvar Fortress which was NOT as easy as i've heard. But it was fun. Waited 3hrs for sunset but it was a huge disappointment.
Sunset was recommended here but i dont understand why when you cant see it! It sets beyond a forest which completely blocks the view! But,the overview of the city made the climb worthwhile.
Dinner was my fav pizza on a cardboard. Ive grown really fond the thin crusted pizzas found everywhere.
Before, i never understood why ppl would order the margheritas when they had the choices of ham/mushrooms/seafood~
But now i get it.. I really do. Simplicity is the key to yumminess.
This morning was the tour! Didnt have high expectations,in fact,i expected to have been cheated of my 500kunas as the booth we paid at was a temp one and they didnt even give us a receipt. Just took our names, money and said come back tmr at 10.30.
But it was so good!
Visited the blue cave first, tiny tiny lil thing it was but it was jaw dropping.
Then we went swimming at "one of the most beautiful beaches in the world" Stiniva Bay..
Then headed to the green cave where i hadnt intended to swim due to some bird feathers on e water but the guide said "just do it! Ur only chance" so YOLO~ Jumped in and loved it.
It is a cave with a hole on the top drilled by fishermen for reception.
It allows light in which goes thru the water and hits the floor of the sea.
It was so beautiful!!
Next we went dropped at some island (god knows where) for lunch and swimming duration: 3hrs
Got more tanned but it was all good.
A 100sgd well spent!
Last day in Hvar:
We head back to Split via a town called Stari Grad as the only way to see lavender fields without paying another 100sgd was a bus. No stopping over though. So just to witness them thru the windows~
This bus costs 5sgd and only runs once a day through the old road where the Lavender Fields are at.
They appear at both sides of the bus so no worries on which side to choose (but i def prefer the left)
The bus stopped at a port where no one got off, luckily we asked the driver and that was our port! So we were the only ones who alighted for the ferry back to split.
